At the Red Door, we employ a systems theory model based on the premise that all systems, whether they are institutions, individuals, or cells, are subject to a simple, repeating process through which change occurs. This is what we call the “Evolve Mindset.”
Our end goal is for all of us to Evolve — to undergo a fundamental transformation in how we see ourselves and engage with the world around us. The Red Door Project envisions unified communities where deep listening and constructive dialogue transform social tensions into resilience.
The Red Door Project offers a variety of workshops tailored to the unique needs of the organizations we work with. At the core of these workshops is the Evolve Mindset- a framework that offers a new way of understanding oneself and the challenges of everyday life. A central intention in offering this model is to help participants to reduce reactivity through growing their capacity to self-reflect, self-regulate and be curious about perspectives that are different from their own. When these capacities are cultivated and practiced, there is more room for critical thinking and measured responses.
Workshops explore various topics, including:
Understanding the fundamentals of the Evolve Mindset and apply it to themselves: helping participants recognize when they are in Protect mode and when it drifts into over-Protect. Where/when is it useful to Protect? And when not? And then how to apply that awareness to themselves.
Applying the Evolve Mindset to giving feedback and having productive conflict. In our experience, most people do not have useful models for giving/receiving feedback and having productive conflict. We will offer participants tools for both through the lens of the Evolve Mindset. Developing two-way communication in an attempt to create a learning environment.
Applying the Evolve Mindset to current challenges. Once grounded in the Evolve Mindset, participants may come to sessions with a current challenge that they are grappling with. We will then apply the Evolve Mindset and provide tools rooted in the Evolve Mindset to explore and work through those challenges.
The Evolve Workshop is followed up with a debrief as well as a learning guide provided for each participant.
