Lesli Mones is the Red Door Project’s Board Chair. She is an executive coach and advisor who is known for her straightforward yet compassionate style. With a background in psychology, and more than thirty years of experience working with individuals and teams, Lesli has developed an uncanny ability for both getting to the heart of issues, and helping to illuminate the path forward.
Julie Grandstaff is the Red Door Project's Board Treasurer. She is a veteran of the financial services industry. In her career of more than twenty-five years, she managed a mutual fund and the fixed-income portfolio for a midsized insurance company, oversaw the investment selection for thousands of company retirement plans, developed a financial planning business, and managed the annuity business for that same insurer. She has a master’s degree in finance and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Sarah Schrott is a retired psychotherapist with over 30 years experience working first in community mental health and later in private practice. In her work, she has seen how the power of self awareness can give people more choice and improve relationships. After seeing both "Hands Up" and "Don’t Shoot," Sarah was readily drawn to the Red Door with its mission to help bridge divides and offer opportunities for constructive dialogue in the face of difference.
Valerie Aitchison is a former family law attorney and mediator. Prior to working as a Family Law attorney, Val practiced Labor Law and represented police unions throughout the Pacific Northwest region. In addition, Val has demonstrated active involvement in social justice issues since law school, and was a member of the Oregon affiliate of the ACLU for 12 years. Law enforcement and social justice experiences and perspectives has drawn Val to the work of the Red Door Project, and given her a broad perspective to draw from in order to appreciate, learn from and adopt the Evolve mindset.
Maria Bezaitis is a humanities-trained research leader with 30 years of experience helping organizations transform products, culture, business models. She is passionate about using the power of narrative to change how business leaders think about what’s possible with their customer and employees. Maria was a Fellow at Intel Corporation, where she ran research teams that focused on everyday interactions with technology, data and emergent AI models, as well as internal culture. Her career spans high tech, consulting and multiple prior board positions.
Kevin is the Red Door Project’s Chief Creative Director and Co-Founder. He is an award-winning actor and director who has performed on the American stage for more than 40 years. Kevin is also a communication, organizational and diversity consultant with over 25 years’ experience working with private and non-profit organizations.
Vonessa Martin is a performing arts leader with 25 years of experience guiding theaters and cultural organizations through growth and change. She is currently the Managing Director of the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, where she oversees strategy, financial stewardship, and organizational culture. In addition to her arts leadership, Vonessa is the co-creator and writer of Small Town Forgotten, a nationally recognized true-crime storytelling project that helped spark renewed attention and even an arrest in a decades-old case. Across her work, she is committed to using the power of story—on stage and in media—to inspire reflection, accountability, and change.
